Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers.
Do you only work with businesses in Pretoria?
I work with Pretoria businesses every day and keep a local presence with a virtual office for meetings and mail. Most projects run even faster on Zoom, which is my preferred way to kick off work and keep approvals moving. If you’d like to meet in person, I’m available by appointment in Pretoria for strategy sessions and reviews.
I also support clients across South Africa with the same clear process and timelines. Distance never slows things down—everything is mapped out with simple milestones, so you always know what’s next. If you’re comparing options, you can learn more on About or start a conversation on Contact Us.
How long does a typical website take?
A standard brochure site usually takes 1–2 weeks once all content, brand assets and decisions are ready. [Timelines do depend on how fast content and feedback arrive.] E-commerce sites take longer — typically 3–10 weeks — because product data, categories, shipping, payments and testing add extra steps. If you have a fixed deadline, tell me early and I’ll plan the work, approvals and launch window to suit.
You’ll get a short schedule with key milestones so you can see progress. If you’re still scoping, the Web Design & Development page explains what goes into a build, and Case Studies show real outcomes and timelines.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes. I start by reviewing your current site to see what should be kept and what should be replaced. The new site is built in WordPress for flexibility and speed. [Re-designs also depend on the current hosting platform.] I usually avoid building on top of another agency’s code because hidden issues (plugin bloat, security problems, fragile layouts) can slow the project and raise costs.
Instead, I set up a clean, modern build that is easier to update and maintain. We’ll keep your best content and tighten the structure for better navigation and search. If you’re comparing options, have a look at Website Maintenance for post-launch support and Search Engine Optimisation for rankings.
What platform do you build on?
I work only with WordPress. It’s reliable, widely supported and simple to edit once your site is live. It also integrates well with ecommerce, booking tools and South African payment gateways, which keeps future changes straightforward.
Because the platform is consistent, I can focus on clean design, tidy code and performance. If you’re new to WordPress, I’ll set up sensible defaults, security, backups and updates. You can read more about the build approach on Web Design & Development.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?
Yes. I design for mobile first and test across common phones, tablets and desktop screens. Buttons, forms and text sizes are set for easy tapping and reading. Images are compressed, and heavy scripts are limited so pages feel quick on mobile data.
Before launch I run a simple checklist: layout, legibility, tap targets, speed and forms. If anything feels clumsy, it’s fixed before go-live. Ongoing tuning sits neatly in Website Maintenance if you’d like regular checks.
Do you offer hosting, domain and email setup?
I recommend and manage hosting through trusted third-party providers, primarily Hostinger. [Cloud hosting, support quality and value are the key reasons.] This keeps your site on a stable, scalable platform with good speed and backups, while you keep ownership and direct access.
I can assist with domain settings, DNS, SSL and basic email setup so everything is neat and documented. If you already have hosting, that’s fine — I’ll review it and advise whether it’s suitable. For ongoing care, see Website Maintenance.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on pages, features and integrations. Simple brochure sites are more affordable; complex builds, shops and custom functionality cost more. I’ll give you clear options and explain what’s included, so you can pick the right fit for your budget and timeline.
There are no surprise costs — all work is listed in the quote and contract. If you’re price-checking, the Services page outlines typical scopes, and Request a Quote is the quickest way to get numbers.

What is included in a new build?
Planning and site structure, custom design, responsive WordPress development and essential on-page SEO are standard. I connect analytics, set up basic events and test forms, speed, accessibility and security before launch.
After go-live, I provide a short handover and options for ongoing support. If you’d like regular updates, content help or performance tuning, that fits into Website Maintenance and Search Engine Optimisation.
Do you help with SEO?
Yes. I set up clean URLs, headings, meta titles and descriptions, and a sensible internal linking structure. I also focus on speed and tidy code, which helps search and users. If you need ongoing help, I can plan monthly tasks like content updates and technical checks.
For local reach, I place Pretoria terms where they make sense and suggest topics that match real searches. You’ll find practical ideas on the Blog and a service overview on Search Engine Optimisation.
Can you maintain and update the site after launch?
Yes. Care plans include updates, backups, security checks, uptime monitoring and small fixes to keep your site healthy. You’ll receive simple reports so you know what changed and why.
I also offer blog article writing: from 5 to 100 posts per month, with optional sharing to your social channels after publishing. I research keywords using Search Console data, local intent and competitor gaps, then map posts to your services. This steady content helps rankings and gives you useful material to share. See Website Maintenance for options.

Can you improve website speed and Core Web Vitals?
Yes. I compress images, streamline code and use smart caching to make pages load faster. I also reduce or delay heavy scripts and tidy layouts so content appears quickly and doesn’t jump around.
The aim is clear scores on key metrics like Largest Contentful Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift. I’ll explain the changes in simple terms and show you before-and-after results. If you want regular checks, that sits well in Website Maintenance.
Do I need to write the content?
If you have content, great — I’ll shape it for the web and make it easy to scan. If not, I can help plan and write it in a tone that fits your brand and is friendly to search.
My process uses the information you share about your company to build a profile for an AI writing assistant. This helps create draft copy that fits your structure and keywords. I then edit by hand so the final text sounds natural and matches your goals. For ideas, browse the Blog.
Who provides the images?
You can supply photos, or I can source professional stock images at no extra cost. All images are compressed and sized for speed and clarity, especially on mobile.
If you’d like brand-new photos, I can help plan a small shoot or guide a photographer. Good images make a big difference to trust and conversion, and they lift your case studies later. See examples in Case Studies.
How many design revisions are included?
I work in organised rounds so feedback is clear and progress stays steady. [I’ll design until you’re 100% satisfied, as long as feedback is timely and communication stays professional.] This avoids endless loops and keeps the launch on track.
Each round includes your comments, my updates and a short review. The number of rounds depends on your package and will be written into the quote. If extra changes are needed later, I’ll quote fairly before doing the work.
Will I be able to edit the site myself?
Yes. I build with easy tools and show you how to change text, images and menus. After launch you can choose if I should continue maintaining the site, or you take over updates yourself.
If you prefer to manage things elsewhere, you can transfer the site to your own hosting provider. [If you’re not comfortable with web development, I suggest staying on a care plan to avoid mistakes.] For ongoing help, Website Maintenance is the best fit.
Do you build online shops?
Yes. I set up products, categories, payments, shipping and basic stock controls in WordPress with WooCommerce. The checkout is kept clean and simple to reduce cart abandonment.
We add important pages like returns, privacy and terms, and test the full flow from browsing to payment. If you need help with product data or content, I can assist. Maintenance and updates fit into Website Maintenance.
What is the process from start to finish?
We begin with a signed contract and 50% deposit to book your slot. The scope, deliverables and timeline are written into the agreement. Then we confirm the site map, content plan and designs before development begins. [The scope of the project will be included in the contract.]
You’ll see milestones, reviews and tests, followed by launch and optional care. If you want a quick health check before starting, the Free Website Audit is a simple way to spot priorities.
How do we communicate during the project?
I keep communication simple. We use email for approvals and a shared checklist for tasks and deadlines. Calls are scheduled when needed so everyone stays aligned.
[I prefer using a WhatsApp group with all decision-makers included.] This keeps questions quick and transparent. If you prefer Zoom for meetings, that’s perfect — it’s quick and reliable. You’ll always know who is responsible for the next step.
What do you need from me to get started?
As much as possible: your goals, brand guidelines, logos, brochures, product lists, photos and any existing content. The more you share, the faster the project moves and the better the result.
If some items aren’t ready, I’ll give you a short checklist and help fill the gaps. Once the quote is signed and the deposit is paid, I’ll confirm your start date and set up the project plan. When you’re ready, Request a Quote is the quickest next step.
Do I own the website after it’s built?
Yes — once the final payment is made, you own the website and its content. Access details and documentation are handed over neatly so everything is clear and in your control.
Ownership of the domain depends on whose name it’s registered under. [You’ll fully own the site if the domain is in your name.] If you ever move hosting or providers, I can assist with the handover.
Can you migrate my site from Wix or Squarespace?
I don’t migrate those platforms directly. [I use the information and content from your current site and build a new WordPress site that is faster, cleaner and easier to grow.] This avoids technical limits and gives you a solid base for future updates.
We’ll map important pages, improve structure and set redirects where sensible so visitors and search engines find the new site easily. If you need help preparing content, I can assist with copy and images.
What if I need help urgently?
Send a message with “Urgent” in the subject and a short description of the problem. I’ll respond as quickly as I can and advise the fastest fix. [I will try my best to make it work.]
Clients on maintenance plans get priority. If the issue is hosting-related, I’ll help you speak to the provider and share the details they need. Most urgent issues can be stabilised quickly while we plan a permanent fix.
Do you help with branding and logos?
Yes. I can refresh your logo, define colours and typography, and tidy your brand basics so everything feels consistent online. This makes design faster, content easier to read and the site more memorable.
If you need a deeper branding project, we can plan that too — name, messaging and style guidelines. A clear brand helps your website convert more visitors into enquiries, and it makes future content creation simpler.
Do you follow accessibility best practices?
Yes. I focus on readable text, good colour contrast, keyboard access and clear page structure. These steps help more people use your site and often improve conversions and search visibility.
I also avoid heavy effects that slow pages or cause layout shifts. If you have specific accessibility requirements, tell me and I’ll include them in the plan. Ongoing checks can form part of Website Maintenance.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A 50% deposit secures your slot and project start. The balance is tied to clear deliverables so you can see progress before each payment. Everything is written into the quote and contract.
This approach lets me plan time accurately and keeps your project on schedule. If the scope changes, I’ll explain the options and costs upfront so you can decide comfortably.
How do you measure success?
We pick simple goals together — enquiries, calls, sales or bookings — and set up analytics to track them. After launch I review performance and suggest steady improvements. Small monthly changes usually beat big one-off rebuilds.
You’ll get clear notes on what we changed and why. If you want to push growth, regular content and technical checks help a lot; that’s where Search Engine Optimisation and ongoing Website Maintenance come in.
